According to official UK data on mortality from COVID-19, we found that it is men in low-paid occupations and not health workers who are most likely to die .
The occupations of these men are cleaners, bus drivers, security guards … And men who work in transportation (drivers, taxi drivers, truck drivers …) have one of the highest mortality rates.
Blacks die more than whites
Specifically, according to the Office for National Statistics, men working in the least skilled occupations had the highest death rate involving COVID-19, with 21.4 deaths per 100,000 men .

Women in care, leisure, and other service occupations had a mortality rate of 7.5 deaths per 100,000 .
This is the only occupational group where the rate was statistically significantly higher than for women in the general population.

Health workers (including doctors and nurses) are not among those with the highest death rates when compared to the death rate from COVID for those in the population who are the same age and sex.
Black people have 4 times the death rate of whites and 2 times if socioeconomic factors are controlled for. Other ethnic minorities also have a high rate.
